Security Supervisor

At The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our Colleagues guests and visitors is an integral part of our operations. As a Security Supervisor your attentiveness efficiency and commitment will ensure your hotel remains a safe enjoyable workplace and travel destination. 

What you will be doing: 

Reporting to the Security Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:  

• Consistently offer professional engaging and friendly service  
• Follow departmental policies procedures and service standards 
• Lead and coach the Security Team to achieve guest service and colleague satisfaction results through the application of all Corporate and Property standards and policies  
• Manage incident reporting and follow-up including liaising with the Executive Committee insurers and guests to ensure efficient resolution of potential claims  
• Develop and ensure procedures are maintained for dealing with intoxicated persons thefts evictions cash escorts lost and found articles crime prevention & response and fire alarm response 
• Prepare appropriate purchase orders for the purchase of Security & office supplies etc  
• Investigate and follow-up with regard to any complaints or reports made by guests or staff  
• Support the Security Manager in leading the operation of the security department including (but not limited to the following): payroll budgeting administration conducting colleague evaluations hiring & recruiting training and scheduling  
• Manage Wildlife control measures on property  
• Manage safety equipment and inspections (fire extinguishers first aid kits eye wash stations AED crash kits)  
• Manage in-room safes and procedures and manage electronic lock systems 
• Represent the hotel if and when required in court (criminal or civil)  
• Liaise with Staff Housing on security breaches within residence 
• Adhere to the hotels vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles  
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies  
• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications :

Your experience and skills include: 

• Previous experience in a Security roleis required  
• A valid Alberta Security Services and Investigator license; or ability to attain a license under the Alberta Security Services and Investigators Act within 30 days of start date is required  
• A Valid Alberta Drivers Licence and Drivers Abstract is required  
• Previous Safety experience is required  
• Previous hospitality experience is required 
• Valid Advanced Level First Aid is an asset  
• Experience in fire fighter training WHMIS and/or other safety courses is an asset  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications specifically Word and Excel  
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize critical tasks and work well under pressure & stressful situations  
• Ability to deal effectively with the public in conflict situations  
• Excellent communication and organization skills  
• Highly responsible flexible and reliable  
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervision 
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
