The Sanitation Labourer/ Drivers Helper will perform labor intensive housekeeping and sanitation processes using specialized equipment and following sanitation schedules and safety this role you will maintain good housekeeping and sanitation conditions to ensure food safety regulations and other local regulations are met prevent failures and maintain safe work areas.
To maintain the hatchery facility in a state of optimum cleanliness and to ensure proper egg handling requirements are followed for efficient operation.
- Washing disinfecting and/or chemically sanitizing all hatchery equipment floors and walls through the use of high pressure washers garden hoses and automatic wash machines
- Performing manual cleaning duties as required
- Maintaining care in all egg handling procedures to ensure optimum sanitation and subsequent hatch results
- Wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment
- Maintaining total awareness of and ensures compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and Company Health & Safety policies
- Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Ensures strict adherence to bio-security rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending lifting up to 40lbs kneeling climbing and twisting safely with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat cold dust loud noise etc. with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Ability to work overtime including weekends holidays or different shifts with advance notice
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Sanitation Experience
- Previous Production Experience
- High School diploma or Equivalent
