Job Summary
Position Overview:The basic function of the Mechanical Outside Salesperson is to promote all the mechanical manufacturers that we represent and to provide accurate and timely support to all stakeholders in the HVAC industry. For this specific position the candidate must have a thorough understanding of mechanical systems to be able to make optimal selections and designs of products listed successful candidates responsibilities will include:The following are the principal duties of the Mechanical Outside and maintain relationships with all industry stakeholders (Contractors Consulting Engineers Developers Owners etc.) to grow sales and expand market share in accordance with company goals and the sale of all mechanical equipment including but not limited to Air Handling Units Make Up Air Units Roof Top Package Units Dedicated Outdoor Air Units Heat Pumps Boilers Water Heaters Chillers and VRF. This will include:Be able to identify and maximize out product selections for design/build able to interpret schedules construction drawings specifications able to do take-offs prepare quotations and tenders prepare and issue -educate and attend manufacturers factory / training visits to ensure you are constantly up to date on the latest product developments and software tools. (Some travel will be involved)Understand and remain current with both industry and local codes and regulations and market trends to ensure we comply and can exploit the contractor community in an accurate and timely an understanding of our competitors product relationships through in-person meetings lunches industry events etc. Follow up all quotes/opportunities to secure orders better understand each market and investigate the projects we and implement new product introductions to the job sites as and when on-site challenges present themselvesPlan and accompany customers on factory a member of ASHRAE and attend monthly ASHRAE and attend trade shows when requested to do all divisional and office meetingsAssist in all customer events as required. This could be open houses sporting events lunches as part of a team with a Customer First approach to ideal candidate for this position will have:A minimum of 3 years experience selling HVAC related mechanical equipment but 5 or more years would be preferred. A thorough knowledge of mechanical products is a degree in engineering or business is Knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook & Internet of how to read & interpret construction attitude exemplary attendance ethical business practices and a reliable team Success Looks Like:Driving sales growth and market share consistently identifying pursuing and converting project opportunities that contribute to revenue growth profitability and expanded market presence for all represented manufacturers and product strong industry relationships developing trusted partnerships with contractors developers owners engineers and other key stakeholders positioning the company as the preferred supplier and technical resource in the expert technical solutions leveraging a strong understanding of HVAC systems and equipment to deliver accurate product selections system designs and value-driven recommendations that meet customer and project responsive and accurate customer service providing timely quotations tenders submittals and technical support that help customers meet project deadlines and create a superior customer project and sales opportunities actively managing opportunities from lead generation through quotation negotiation award and closeout while maintaining strong follow-up practices to improve win rates and understand competitive as a trusted HVAC resource confidently interpreting drawings specifications schedules and code requirements while helping customers navigate technical challenges and make informed equipment strong market and competitive awareness staying informed on industry trends local regulations emerging technologies and competitor offerings to identify opportunities and strengthen market manufacturers and new product initiatives effectively successfully launching and promoting new products educating customers on their benefits and driving market acceptance through presentations meetings and industry a visible and respected industry presence actively participating in ASHRAE trade shows customer events factory visits and networking opportunities to strengthen relationships build credibility and generate new business successful project execution collaborating with customers manufacturers and internal teams to resolve job site challenges address technical issues and ensure projects are completed successfully and to a customer-first team culture working collaboratively with internal teams demonstrating professionalism and accountability and consistently delivering service that reinforces the companys reputation for excellence in the HVAC industry.
