Position Summary

Under the direction of the Deputy Registrar SystemsPlanning and Reporting the Functional Analyst designs and implements newbusiness processes and technologies within the Office of the Registrar (RO). Theincumbent gathers business requirements through interviews with keystakeholders to provide options for solutions and communicates any systemslimitations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as a member of the project team that is responsible for implementing new business technologies and processes in the Registrars Office. May work collaboratively with the team on a project or be assigned the role of project coordinator based on skills and strengths.
  • Oversees ongoing maintenance and quality assurance for systems within the RO such as the Web Registration Applications Millennium Fast Student Grade Entry and Reporting Application Banner Student Aid and Degree Works.
  • Problem-solves complex issues for RO system users: Admissions Registration and Records academic divisions and other business units.
  • Leads training for RO systems and business processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Three-year diploma degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institute in Business Administration or Information Systems with a focus on project management.
  • Completion of a Business Analyst course is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience with post-secondary education information systems with demonstrated understanding of Registrars Office principles such as curriculum scheduling registration student records and student finances.
  • Experience analyzing complex business and technical needs and solutions.
  • Teaching/training experience.

Skills and Attributes

  • Advanced technical skills including demonstrated proficiency working with student information systems (preferably Banner) and related curriculum records and scheduling software.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and work closely to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication collaboration teamwork and interpersonal skills at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold the polytechnics priorities on equity diversity inclusion and Indigenization (EDII).
  • Able to travel between campuses to conduct training sessions or attend meetings or attend other colleges to attend meetings.

Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
