Job Summary
Summary
Supports patient registration and bed management by processing admissions discharges and preadmissions maintaining accurate patient information coordinating bed assignments with clinical teams and generating registration reports. Provides essential clerical support to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow.
Education
- Grade 12 and two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to keyboard at 40 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.

Your Day to Day:
- Registers patients and processes pre-admissions.
- Collects and verifies patient demographic and payment information.
- Completes registration forms obtains signatures and applies ID bands.
- Searches and updates patient health numbers and medication profiles.
- Processes payments deposits and room differential charges.
- Coordinates bed assignments and maintains bed booking records.
- Handles patient transfers and communicates with healthcare facilities.
- Maintains admission discharge cancellation and bed statistic records.
- Provides information directions and support to patients and visitors.
- Performs clerical quality assurance inventory patient escort and other administrative duties.
