Position Summary

The RN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency utilizes the nursing process to assess plan implement and evaluate patient care addresses health educational needs for patients and families and other health care providers manages patient care assignments as well as other organizational tasks related to patient unit operations and acts in a clinical leadership role in the coordination of patient care for all assigned patients. Reporting to the Clinical Manager Palliative and Complex Care C7 the successful applicant will be responsible for comprehensive nursing care in the Palliative Complex Care program and must meet the following criteria

Mandatory Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Two (2) years experience in a complex continuing care geriatric nursing or rehabilitation setting
• Rehabilitation Gerontology or Palliative Care CertificateAble to perform I.V. starts and venipuncture
• Knowledge and understanding of Continuing Care reporting systems (CCR) Resident Assessment Instrument(RAI) and Minimum Data Set (MDS)

• Additional postgraduate Non Violent Crisis Intervention courses
• Experience in patient teaching
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
