Job Summary
Brandons Community Sportsplex Day Camp and Recreation Programs*More than one position may be filled*Please apply with a cover letter and resume Conditions: This position will be offered in accordance with conditions identified in the Collective Agreement between the City of Brandon and CUPE Local 69. First consideration will be given to current City of Brandon CUPE employees. The City of Brandon reserves the right to underfill this of Pay: $17.74 - $18.86 per hour (2026 Rate).The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains : The City of Brandon requires proof of mandatory qualifications. PURPOSE OF POSITIONUnder the general direction of the Recreation Hub Programmer the incumbents will be required to lead and oversee the activities of the Recreation Department. Recreation programs and activities which will enhance both life and social skills of the recipients in an active fun & safe environment. Activities could include but are not limited to swimming skating team sports arts & crafts music & dance cultural education outdoor exploring DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPlan supervise and participate in program activities under the direction of the Recreation Program Assistant;Provide leadership and direction to the participants and show enthusiasm;Provide a safe cooperative and enjoyable environment for program participants;Adjust program activities to accommodate a variety of group sizes interests and participant skill levels;Implement the evaluation plan and submit a final report on the program; Ensure public health guidelines are adhered to at all times;Perform other duties as assigned or : This description is not intended to limit the assignment of work or be construed as a complete list of the many duties to be performed by the & EXPERIENCEEmergency First Aid/Level C CPR (must be obtained prior to start date);Successful completion of a Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Verification and Child Abuse Registry Check (must be obtained prior to start date);Related experience in recreation programming education instruction sports background;Previous experience working with children;Previous experience working in a multi-ethnic settingThe City of Brandon is committed to an inclusive barrier free environment and will accommodate the needs of applicants under the Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) throughout all stages of the recruitment and selection process.
