Receptionist (Temporary 3-Month Term)

OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for a temporary Receptionist to join our team in Sherwood Park Alberta for a 3-month term.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

As the first point of contact for visitors clients vendors and employees the Receptionist plays an important role in creating a welcoming and professional experience. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people has a positive attitude and takes pride in providing excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will be available to start on October 19 2026.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous reception customer service retail hospitality or office experience is considered an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly professional and approachable demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a busy office environment.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook Word and Excel.
• Dependable punctual and willing to assist where needed.
• Positive attitude and strong team-oriented approach.
• Enjoys working with and helping people.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the first point of contact for visitors clients vendors and employees.
• Greet guests and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
• Answer screen and transfer incoming phone calls.
• Take and relay messages in a professional and timely manner.
• Receive sort and distribute incoming mail courier packages and deliveries.
• Coordinate outgoing courier shipments and mail.
• Provide general administrative support to various departments.
• Assist employees with general office inquiries and support requests.
• Maintain reception and common areas in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist with filing scanning data entry and other administrative tasks as required.
• Order and maintain office supplies as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
