Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager Environmental Services & Sustainability the Receiving & Distribution Clerk is a member of the Facilities Management team and is responsible for receiving distribution mail services inventory control procurement support custodial equipment maintenance and waste diversion activities for the University.
Working as part of a two-person operational team the successful candidate receives and distributes supplies equipment furniture mail courier shipments and other materials throughout campus; maintains inventory and stock control records; assists with procurement activities including product sourcing vendor liaison and purchase requisitions; coordinates repairs and performs minor maintenance on custodial equipment; maintains the departmental WHMIS database; and supports the Universitys waste diversion and sustainability initiatives.
The Receiving & Distribution Clerk is also responsible for processing tracking and distributing campus mail and parcels; ensuring compliance with postal and transportation regulations including Transportation of Dangerous Goods requirements; maintaining equipment and operational records; and providing excellent customer service to faculty staff students vendors and service providers.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience in receiving and distribution logistics mail services facilities operations or a related environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. WHMIS certification and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification are considered assets. The successful candidate must be willing and able to obtain and maintain required safety and operational training.
Applicants should possess strong communication organizational customer service and problem-solving skills along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience with inventory control procurement processes and custodial equipment maintenance would be considered assets. Attention to detail record-keeping accuracy and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required along with the ability to learn inventory management purchasing and shipping systems. The successful candidate must possess a valid drivers license and be capable of performing the physical requirements of the position.

Starting Salary: $40632 per annum (Step Progression $40632 to $47099)
