Custom Castings is a member of the Nordstern Group of Companies which also includes Protek Surface Technologies Forte Tooling Technologies and Sure Cast Aluminum Foundry. The successful candidate will work with personnel to maintain an acceptable level of quality of product shipped to Custom Castings customers and received from suppliers. This is accomplished by maintaining a structured yet flexible quality system as a tool used to meet or exceed customer requirements on a consistent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Support internal and external quality concerns throughinvestigationsupport documentation and follow-up communication with customers suppliers and internal teams.
    • Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control support to operations personnel asrequired.
    • Perform required FAI/PPAP inspection activities and prepare required documentation.
    • Perform laboratory testing (density index tensile test hardness test spectrometry) and prepare required certification of results.
    • Develop implement andmaintainall gauging testing and inspection procedures and equipment.
    • Conduct and report on internal and external quality management system audits.
    • Maintain control of all QMS required documentation.
    • As necessary addressqualityof supplier products or services.

What You Bring:

    • Post-secondaryeducationor relevant experienceinquality manufacturingmechanical technologyorarelatedtechnicaldiscipline.
    • Hands-on / team-based problem-solving skills.
    • Proven ability to interpret drawings and perform manual inspection using common measuring tools.
    • Comfortable using basic PC applications including Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry documentation and reporting.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers suppliers and internal teams.
    • Experience with CMM based inspection methods PPAP ISO 9001 and statistical methods would be considered an asset.
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to stand walk bend and move around the production floor as required.
