As a Scheduler / Planner you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of major industrial construction projects. You will be responsible for developing maintaining and analyzing detailed construction schedules that guide execution and ensure alignment with project milestones.
Working closely with Project Managers Superintendents Engineers and field leadership you will ensure work is properly planned logically sequenced and executed safely and efficiently.
Core Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules from initial planning through project completion
Establish construction logic sequencing and durations in collaboration with project teams
Integrate engineering procurement construction and commissioning activities into a cohesive logic-driven schedule
Track and update construction progress regularly to accurately reflect field conditions and productivity
Monitor critical path activities float consumption and schedule performance indicators
Develop short-term look-ahead schedules to support field execution
Identify schedule risks constraints and potential delays; propose mitigation and recovery strategies
Maintain schedule baselines and assess impacts of scope changes variations and delays
Support change management processes through schedule analysis and documentation
Assist in aligning Field Installation Work Packages (FIWPs) with the master schedule
Support work packaging constraint identification/removal and execution readiness
Provide schedule analysis reports and updates to project leadership and stakeholders
Participate in planning sessions coordination meetings and progress reviews
Collaborate with Project Controls teams on progress measurement forecasting and earned value reporting
Support schedule close-out activities including final progress validation and document archiving
Contribute to project safety and quality objectives by ensuring realistic sequencing and execution plans
Qualifications & Experience
Degree or diploma in Engineering Engineering Technology or a related field or equivalent industry experience
3-5 years of experience in planning and scheduling large industrial construction projects (e.g. oil & gas power generation mining or heavy industrial)
Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6; experience with other scheduling and project controls tools is an asset
Strong understanding of construction methods sequencing and workface planning principles
Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess schedule impacts and recommend solutions
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities across field office and client teams
Highly organized detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
Team-oriented with a proactive approach to collaboration and continuous improvement
