Who are we looking for

To support GHDs growth in the Energy business across Canada GHD is making investments to increase our footprint. Our Canadian business is looking for a Project Manager to join their Energy team! In this role you will expand our energy project delivery capabilities grow our presence in Canada East and liaise with key clients across Canada working with Canadian and North American leaders. Youll support implementing strategic plans identify client needs and deliver cutting-edge solutions in areas like transmission distribution substations hydropower wind solar biofuels hydrogen and renewable natural gas and emerging technologies. Youll support not only project delivery but also business development while also working with other teams in Canada East. Role Purpose

This role combines project delivery management with strategic client relationship management for priority energy and utility clients. It is designed for a utility professional who can support and lead complex multidisciplinary projects while also acting as a trusted client interface.

The role is delivery-led with accountability for project delivery forming the core of the position complemented by relationship management responsibilities that help strengthen GHD presence client partnerships identify future opportunities and support sustainable growth.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of duties and will see you involved in:

Project Management (70%)

• Support the end-to-end delivery of complex multi-disciplinary energy and utility projects ensuring scope schedule budget quality and safety objectives are achieved
• Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams across engineering environmental and advisory services including core discipline delivery and subject matter experts
• Support overall project governance risk management change control and client reporting
• Ensure consistent application of GHDs health safety quality and project management systems
• Provide delivery support as required to achieve successful project outcomes
• Support project managers and technical staff contributing to capability development and delivery excellence
• Support proposals and pursuits from a delivery constructability and execution perspective

Relationship Management & Business Development (30%)

• Grow GHDs presence in Canada East
• Support Client relationship development through successful project delivery
• Act as a trusted relationship lead for assigned utility clients or programs working closely with sector and regional leadership
• Serve as a client advocate internally ensuring client priorities constraints and decision-making realities are understood across delivery teams
• Support client engagement planning including regular check-ins lessons learned and forward looking discussions
• Identify organic growth opportunities arising from project delivery including follow-on phases extensions and new programs
• Contribute to pursuit strategies and proposals where delivery credibility and utility experience are key differentiators
• Collaborate across regions and disciplines to deliver a One GHD approach to client solutions

Note: This is not a dedicated Enterprise Client Program Relationship Manager role but a hybrid position anchored in project delivery with intentional relationship leadership responsibilities.

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Engineering (Civil Electrical Mechanical) or related technical field of study
• Professional licensure or eligibility preferred (.)
• Recognition of the engineering title in other Canadian provinces and/or the United States is a plus
• 7-10 years of experience in the energy sector including business development project management and technical leadership for infrastructure ideally within or for utilities
• Analytical and project management skills can work independently
• Experience in multi-disciplinary design integration and complex project delivery including progress measurement and earned value management (EVM) experience
• Background in project governance cost control scheduling and risk management
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with operational and technical client stakeholders
• Ability to engage and influence various stakeholders including clients partners regulators and internal teams
• Experience with regulated utilities (generation transmission & distribution substations hydro or asset programs) is a strong asset
• Comfortable operating in a hybrid role spanning delivery leadership and client-facing responsibilities
• Valid drivers licence
• Experience with Design Bid Build (DBB) Design Build (DB) and alternative delivery projects such as Progressive DB Integrated Project Delivery/Alliance and/or P3 considered an asset
