The NRC has an important role within the Government of Canadas Defence Industrial Strategy accelerating research and innovation and helping Canadian businesses develop leading-edge technologies for civilian and military use.
With expertise across fields such as transportation quantum science medical countermeasures and advanced manufacturing the NRC is hiring to drive the development of national sovereign defence capabilities. The following role will support the NRCs contributions to defence priorities.
We are looking for a Project Management Coordinator (PMC) to support our Project Management team. The PMC would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity Excellence Respect and Creativity.
The Project Management Coordinator is responsible for supporting program/project management activities by working closely with project managers and providing expertise on practices systems and tools in order to ensure projects are tracked and managed efficiently.
The PMC relieves the project team of project management administrative responsibilities by entering adjusting and maintaining project data using SAP Project Systems module to help all stakeholders have an accurate picture of the project status and forecast. The PMC prepares status reports at team and program levels to assist the Project Manager make informed decisions in order to deliver projects on scope on time and on budget.
They also provide a range of other project coordination services including procurement activities and advice on the processes and tools related to project coordination.
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
Successful completion of college degree.
Program specializing in business administration or in project management would be considered an asset.
A combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
A formal designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) would be considered an asset.

- Significant* experience in supporting project management such as: gathering information and maintaining project data integrity tracking project expenses and milestones producing project reports and minutes of meetings.
- Significant* experience using MS Office tools such as Excel Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience in supporting procurement activities preferably in coordination of project-related contracts and equipment acquisition.
- Experience using SAP Project Systems would be considered an asset.
- Experience with MS Teams application and its various communication and collaboration and productivity features would be considered an asset.
*Significant experience is defined as at least two (2) years of experience.
Secret Clearance
A thorough security clearance process will be applied.
For a Secret Clearance verification of background information over a period of 10 years is required. Individuals must have lived in Canada for a sufficient period of time to enable the security screening process.

In addition the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of$800 per year.
