Job Summary
**Role Overview**
We are seeking a talented and driven Product Designer to join our engineering consulting team in Toronto Ontario this role you will leverage your design expertise to create innovative and user-centric solutions for a diverse range of clients across various industries. You will play a pivotal role in the entire product development lifecycle from initial concept to final implementation translating complex engineering challenges into intuitive and engaging user experiences.
**Responsibilities**
- Lead the full design process from discovery to delivery including user research ideation wireframing prototyping and high-fidelity UI design.
- Collaborate closely with clients engineers project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and user needs.
- Conduct user research activities such as interviews surveys and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
- Develop and maintain design systems style guides and component libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects.
- Present design concepts and solutions effectively to internal teams and external clients incorporating feedback thoughtfully.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development process.
- Stay current with industry trends design tools and emerging technologies.
**Required Qualifications**
- . degree in Engineering Design Computer Science or a related field.
- 2-8 years of professional experience in product design UI/UX design or a similar design-focused role.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects demonstrating expertise in user experience visual design and problem-solving.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma Sketch Adobe XD InVision).
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles information architecture and interaction design patterns.
- Experience working within an agile or iterative development environment.
- Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams and understanding technical constraints.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working in an engineering consulting environment or on multiple client projects.
- Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript) to facilitate effective communication with developers.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative user research methodologies.
- Ability to create compelling design rationale and defend design choices.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
