Process Controls Engineering Associate

Position overview:
As part of the Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Engineering team you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional engineering team executing custom project designs meeting customer expectations quality schedule budget and goals and ensuring project risks are mitigated.

The individual chosen for this role will be oriented toward Process Control Engineering creating process control strategies for a wide range of water technologies including developing control documentation answering questions throughout programming supporting network design and assisting through commissioning as projects move through the future there will be the possibility of expanding the role to include electrical instrumentation and/or programming.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in cross-functional project team discussions and client meetings
• Read and process engineering documents including P&IDs GAs process design. guidelines Electrical Schematics I/O Lists instrument and valve lists Network Architecture return of experience and engineering best practices guides
• Interpret comment and follow contract and customer specifications
• Design the complete detailed control logic for plant operation (Control Philosophy Control Logic & Sequence Charts) with operator and equipment safety in mind
• Manage budget scope and schedule and proactively report risks and opportunities to project teams

Qualifications :

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Understanding of low-voltage power distribution electrical design
• Technical knowledge in industrial control systems
• Understanding of hydraulics and fundamentals of fluid mechanics
• Teamwork spirit and good interpersonal relations oriented
• Strong oral and written communication skills; provide reports and support internal and external customers
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in electrical Mechanical Chemical or Process Engineering
• At least four (4) years of experience with control systems of Rockwell Schneider and/or Siemens PLC HMI DCS and/or SCADA design and programming
• Valid passport and drivers license
• Automation testing experience (simulation and/or field environment): I/O modules PID controllers VFD configuration and Network communications: EtherNet/IP Modbus TCP Modbus RTU
• Availability to travel up to 30% per year (USA & Canada). For customer meetings training and equipment startup support

Compensation:
The compensation range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute but a guide and offers will be based on the individual candidates knowledge skills experience and market conditions as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $83000-$102000 CAD.
