Modern Niagara is looking for local forepeopleto join our team on the Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Halifax Infirmary Expansion in Halifax Nova Scotia.

This recruitment campaign is focused on local talent. We want to connect with skilled tradespeople who live in Halifax and surrounding Nova Scotia communities and want the opportunity to work on one of the largest healthcare construction projects in the region.

Whether youre already a UA Local 56 member or youre currently non-union and interested in learning more about joining Local 56 we want to hear from you.

As construction continues to ramp up were building a strong pipeline of local Forepeoplewho are interested in opportunities on the project.

We want to hear from:

• Plumbing & Pipe forepeople
• Current UA Local 56 members
• Local non-union forepeople interested in exploring membership with Local 56

• Experience or training in the plumbing/pipe trades
• A strong commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team
• Strong work ethic reliability and professionalism
• Willingness to learn and continue developing your trade
• Experience in commercial institutional or healthcare construction is an asset

To be job ready for the QEII project candidates should have current:

• Fall Arrest / Fall Protection 8-hour course
• EWP (Elevated Work Platform) 8-hour course
• WHMIS

For qualified local candidates who are a good fit for the project but dont currently have the required training we can explore training opportunities to help you meet the project requirements and become job ready.

Our goal is to build a strong local workforce and help provide local tradespeople with the training and tools they need to succeed on the QEII project.
