Pickleball Centre Instructor 1-2 (Ongoing Posting)

Please note that this is an ongoing posting meaning that applications will be accepted until December 31 2025 in order to establish a pool of candidates for when opportunities come up.

Working with the Town of Newmarkets Recreation and Culture Team means the opportunity to make a difference and connect with your community! Working in Recreation means being apart of something special gaining valuable work experience and learning new skills. We are looking for dedicated individuals who enjoy working with others with a passion to deliver high quality programs events and services. One thing is for certain you will love the experience and our participants will too!

The Successful Candidate Will:

1. Deliver fun safe and inclusive pickleball lessons programs clinics and leagues.

2. Ensure attendance is taken at each class and all paperwork is handed in promptly on the last day of the session.

3. Communicate with participants to troubleshoot and discuss any issues or concerns with the program.

4. Liaise with the programmer to discuss any concerns issues or developments with the program facility or participants.

5. Manage their class time and preparation time as well as arriving on time for their program.

6. Provides information and customer service to the public.

7. Complete incident or accident reports administer first aid as required and notify a supervisor as appropriate.

All

1. Excellent customer service communication leadership and organizational skills and sensitivity to interact with a diversity of patrons parents and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.

2. Ability to run lessons programs clinics and leagues.

3. Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification required.

4. Availability/flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

5. Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.

6. NCCP Instructor Level 1 Certification is required. Level 2 Certification considered an asset forInstructor2 position.

7. Minimum 3.5 DUPRplaying level.

8. Current High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development and High Five Sport certifications required.

9. Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification or Safe Management certification an asset.

Instructor 1 Starting $30.00

1. Responsible for program delivery of junior and adult group pickleball classes

2. Demonstrated work experience of at least two years in a club setting.

Instructor 2 Starting $35.00

1. Responsible for program delivery of junior and adult group pickleball classes as well as private and semi-private sessions clinics and leagues.

2. Demonstrated work experience of at least three years in a club setting.

3. Demonstrated commitment to continued education in pickleball (example: workshops seminars certifications etc.).

Please Note:

1. Rate of pay will be determined by Town of Newmarket staff based on applicant experience certifications and/or program requirements.

2. Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification.

Disclaimer:Candidates whose Standard First Aid certification expires after June 22 2026 must renew their certification through aWSIB-approved providerand obtain the new Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C certification at candidates own cost.
