Working with the Town of Newmarkets Recreation & Culture Team means the opportunity to make a difference and connect with your community! Working in Recreation means being apart of something special gaining valuable work experience and learning new skills. The Successful Candidate Will:
Create a welcoming environment greeting informing and directing visitors and employees in a warm courteous and professional manner.
Provide information and customer service to the public by answering incoming calls emails and in-person inquiries.
Maintain the online booking system and act as an information source on the service. Verify the courts are being utilized as per the booking schedule in the system and all players are checked in and paid.
Communicate and document any concerns to the Recreation Programmer (health and safety attendance participants equipment inventory facility spaces).
Respond to emergency situations including performing minor first aid and/or arranging for medical assistance.
Assist customers with day-to-day bookings cancellations enrollment in programs and membership registration.

Requirements
Excellent customer service communication leadership and organizational skills and sensitivity to interact with a diversity of patrons parents and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
Energetic and enthusiastic personality dealing with members and guests.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) and demonstrated comfort level with the internet. Proven aptitude for the learning & use of various software applications including recreation registration software.
Work experience as a receptionist front office representative or similar role is an asset.
Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification required.
Availability/flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification or Safe Management certification an asset.
Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.
Please Note:Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification.
