Neighbourly Pharmacyis looking for aFull-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Lovell Drugs - KOPI Compounding Center in Kingston listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate SummaryThe Compounding Pharmacy Assistant is in charge of offering top-notch client service in a polite informed and professional addition to focusing on achieving pharmacy excellence in the areas of customer service workflow efficiency and inventory control the compounding pharmacy Assistant is required to perform compounding activities including sterile and hazardous compound preparation following all safety protocols in our state of the art facility. The Assistant is responsible for performing specific dispensing functions as outlined by provincial regulations and standards of Compounding Pharmacy Assistant must be always under the supervision of a pharmacist. All dispensing functions performed by a pharmacy assistant must be carried out following provincial regulations and standards of specialty compounding activities preparing products according to master formulasAdhere to all compounding Standard Operating Procedures as maintained by the compounding supervisorAdhere to all safety and cleaning precautions and procedures to avoid exposure and contamination risk with Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs)Receive a written prescription from customersLocate the medication select the prescription container and count/pour the medicationAttach the label to the prescription containerEnsure that the original container prescription container contents and label are checked and initialized by the pharmacistRegularly phone customers for unclaimed prescriptionsPharmacy OperationsPerform other tasks as outlined by the pharmacy manager or staff pharmacists. To include:Keep all areas of the pharmacy clean neat and professionalMaintain adequate stock of pharmacy suppliesAnswer the pharmacy telephone except for the doctors line which should be answered by a pharmacistAll doctors calls and inquiries regarding prescriptions copies drug information and poisons must be referred to a pharmacistAssist with third-party billingSet up a schedule for outdated pharmaceuticalsAssist with inventory controlAssist with checking off and putting away pharmaceutical ordersMaintain stocks of pamphlets/consumer informationMaintain OTC/non-prescription sections as designatedOther duties as requiredQualificationsPreference will be given to those who have retail Pharmacy experienceKroll experience is an assetSkillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAble to work independently and have experience multi-taskingProfessional attitude and ability to communicate well with customers and co-workersDue to this positions sensitive nature the successful candidate must complete a Criminal Record CheckScheduleMonday to Friday 9:00 AM 5:30 PMThis job description represents the general responsibilities and duties of the position but should not be construed as an all-inclusive detailed job We Are:Neighbourly Pharmacy is Canadas largest and fastest growing network of community pharmacies.
