About This Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director HR Operations and Health and Safety the Manager People & Culture will provide strategic and hands-on People & Culture (P&C) partnership to Canada Packers Head Office supporting VP level and below team member groups. This role is a trusted advisor to leaders and team members helping translate business priorities into people strategies that strengthen leadership effectiveness talent capability engagement organizational effectiveness and the overall Canada Packers team member experience.

The successful candidate will operate with strong judgment discretion business acumen and relationship management skills. They will support a fast-paced head office environment where priorities are evolving processes are being standardized and leaders are expected to build high-performing values-aligned teams. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and practical execution with the ability to coach leaders manage complex employee matters support organizational design and help deliver simple consistent and people-centric solutions.

Responsibilities:

A Snapshot of Some of the Exciting Things You Will Do

  • Strategic P&C Partnership: Partner with leaders to understand business priorities workforce needs organizational risks and people opportunities; translate these insights into practical P&C plans that support business performance and a consistent Canada Packers experience.

  • Professional Employee Support: Provide thoughtful confidential support for VP level and below team member groups including employee relations performance engagement transitions and sensitive matters requiring strong judgment and discretion.

  • Leadership Coaching: Coach leaders on effective people leadership performance management team effectiveness communication change leadership and values-based decision-making.

  • Talent and Capability: Support talent reviews succession planning development planning performance processes and identification of capability gaps.

  • Organization Effectiveness: Partner with leaders on organization design role clarity workforce planning ways of working and process improvements that simplify work improve accountability and support SG&A planning.

  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Lead and manage FTE forecasting budgeting and reporting process to ensure our workforce aligns with business and operational needs.

  • Employee Relations and Risk Management: Manage employee relations matters with professionalism consistency and sound risk assessment ensuring alignment with company policies employment standards and Canada Packers values.

  • Change and Culture: Provide leadership support regarding organizational change helping build clarity engagement and alignment as Canada Packers continues to mature as an independent organization.

  • P&C Program Execution: Work collaboratively with Talent Acquisition Total Rewards HR Services Health and Safety and other partners to deliver P&C programs and processes including performance compensation onboarding policy review and implementation engagement and leadership development.

  • Data and Insights: Use P&C metrics employee feedback workforce data and business context to identify trends inform recommendations and help leaders make sound people decisions.

  • One P&C Team Contribution: Contribute to P&C operating discipline by standardizing processes improving documentation strengthening self-service and sharing best practices across the P&C team.

Skills & Experience:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Business Labour Relations or a related field.

  • CPHR designation or progress toward designation is preferred.

  • Several years of progressive Human Resources experience including experience supporting professional and management level team member groups.

  • Strong employee relations experience with the ability to assess risk manage sensitive matters and provide balanced practical guidance.

  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with leaders and influence outcomes through sound judgment credibility and business understanding.

  • Experience supporting performance management talent planning organizational design workforce planning and change initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Strong communication facilitation coaching collaboration and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced evolving environment with competing priorities and a need for practical execution.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP HRIS platforms Power BI or data reporting tools is an asset.

  • Experience in food manufacturing agriculture protein consumer packaged goods or a multi-site organization is considered an asset.

  • The expected annual compensation for this role is $110000 - $125000 per includes base salary and eligibility for our annual incentive program. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience skills and internal equity.
