ByWard Family Health Team (BWFHT) offers the general public a comprehensive range of services. We are looking for a specialized pediatric physician to join our comprehensive primary health care team. The pediatric physician will focus on providing care ranging from routine/primary care to acute care and consultation services. You will provide safe quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the ByWard Family Health Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular thorough examinations on newborns and young children to check and record their health and normal physical development

  • Examine sick children to determine their condition to gather information about symptoms

  • Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history

  • Prescribe medications and give detailed instructions for administration

  • Advise parents on childrens diet exercise and disease-preventive measures

  • Keep updated records of patients illnesses surgeries or other medical episodes

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

  • Medical Degree with specialization in pediatrics

  • Experience providing care to pediatric patients

  • Knowledge of childrens epidemiology and infectious diseases

  • Knowledge of diagnostic treatment and rehabilitation principles and techniques

  • Knowledge of medication appropriate for children and their side-effects

  • Outstanding diagnostic skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Willing and ready to work flexible hours

  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
