Job Title:Payroll/Accounts Payable SupportDepartment:FinanceLocation:Peel CAS 25 Capston Dr. Mississauga OntarioApplication Deadline:September 28 2026Hourly Grade:11 Union ($35.22 - $43.40)Please note: contract duration may be subject to OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Finance Manager the Payroll/Accounts Payable Support role is responsible for assisting with the payroll processing and accounts payable functions within the agency. This position involves ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll maintaining payroll records and supporting the accounts payable cycle. The individual in this role will work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure financial operations run smoothly and RESPONSIBILITIES:Payroll Processing:Administers all aspects of the Payroll system including preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for all staff and contract employees verifying all input/output including gross pay and deductions while maintaining complete data the time and attendance payroll records including salary changes deductions and and resolves payroll-related inquiries and compliance with government laws and and reconciles monthly and annual remittances with OMERS WSIB and all statutory government payroll and liability accounts with auditors of the Society and provincial and federal to payroll enquiries on a timely ad hoc reports as Payable Support:Assist with processing requisitions and supplier invoices ensuring proper coding and support with the preparation and processing of accounts payable paymentsAssist with reconciling vendor statements and resolve accurate and up-to-date accounts payable files and records as support with month-end closing activities related to accounts payableProcess Improvement:Identifies opportunities to improve payroll and accounts payable best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial Collaboration:Collaborates with the finance team and other departments to support overall financial in special projects and performs other duties as SPECIFICATION/ COMPETENCIES:Ability to work independently in a fast-paced high volume and rapidly changing environment as well as to get results through positive collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders both internal and & analysis experience with payroll for 500 with Union & Non-Unionized Hourly & Salary computer skills with on-site systems and spreadsheet oral and written communication analytical skills attention to detail accuracy and problem-solving knowledge of financial controls and accounting to quickly make calculations accurately; trace accounting errors; and reconcile to communicate effectively with the public and employees in a pleasant courteous and professional :Certified Payroll Professional (PCP - Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or working towards and/or equivalent is a Certificate or Diploma and one year of related experience.35 years of financial and/or payroll operational of Ceridian Time & Attendance in using accounting software packages.
