About the role
As a Payroll Assistant you will provide essential support to the payroll team assisting with processing of payroll transactions maintaining payroll records and supporting compliance to ensure smooth operations and accurate and timely employee pay.
This is a permanent-full time position that offers an excellent entry to the finance sector for someone who has strong attention to detail high initiative and ability to follow process and procedure. The role can be based anywhere within our NSW and VIC footprint including hybrid work from home arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation calculation and processing of payroll for employees
Input and update employee data in payroll and time and attendance systems
Support the reconciliation of payroll reports and addressing discrepancies or errors in employee pay
Maintain payroll records ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
Support internal audits by providing accurate data and documentation
Respond to payroll-related inquiries
Skills & Experience Required
Demonstrated experience in payroll processing role or similar
Understanding of payroll processes and systems
Proficiency in Microsoft office programs in particular Excel and Outlook
Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
Experience managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes within a fast-paced environment
Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
