Patient Care Manager Cardiac Cath Lab and Schulich Resource Team Regular Full-Time

Summary of Duties

Sunnybrook is seeking a Patient Care Manager (PCM) for its Cardiac Cath labs and Schulich Resource Team reporting to the Operations Director of The Schulich Heart Program.

The Patient Care Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across a complex high-acuity cardiac procedural portfolio including Cardiac Catheterization Labs Electrophysiology (EP) and the Schulich Resource Team (SRT). The PCM oversees the day-to-day operations of six procedural labs and leads interprofessional teams including nurses Patient Administrative Associates (PAAs) and Patient Support Personnel (PSPs) ensuring delivery of safe efficient high-quality patient care aligned with the goals of the Schulich Heart Program.

Working in close partnership with the Cath Lab Medical Director the PCM functions within a dyad leadership model and is accountable for operational performance quality outcomes workforce planning financial stewardship and program growth.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading clinical and operational activities across Cath Lab EP and SRT portfolios to support patient flow access targets and funded procedural volumes
Managing recruitment retention performance management succession planning staff development and creation of a high-performing team culture
Overseeing staffing models master schedules and on-call schedules to ensure safe and efficient operations
Monitoring quality indicators implementing best practices and leading continuous quality improvement initiatives
Managing a large operating budget including financial forecasting expense monitoring and resource optimization within a revenue-generating procedural environment
Providing oversight of procurement activities inventory management major equipment planning service contracts maintenance agreements and supply utilization
Leading product evaluations standardization initiatives and participation in procurement/RFP processes aligned with Broader Public Sector requirements
Supporting implementation of clinical innovation new technologies and major capital projects within procedural areas
Collaborating with physicians advanced practice nurses allied health professionals and organizational partners to advance strategic priorities and operational excellence
Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards accreditation requirements and organizational policies

Qualifications/Skills

Completion of a Masters degree (or in progress)
Knowledge of Cath lab operations or related Clinical experience is mandatory
Minimum 35 years recent leadership experience in complex setting
Demonstrated experience managing budgets operational performance staffing models and resource allocation within a procedural or acute care environment
Experience leading major projects clinical innovation initiatives capital planning procurement or implementation of new technologies is an asset
Strong knowledge of quality improvement patient safety and change management principles
Proven leadership in recruitment coaching conflict resolution performance management and fostering a respectful work environment
Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced high-volume environment with competing priorities
Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with physician leaders and interdisciplinary team

Ability to work effectively and with composure under pressure/stressful conditions and meet multiple and competing deadlines

• Familiarity with collective agreements Knowledge of legislation affecting human resources (i.e. human rights employment standards Occupational Health & Safety).

Familiarity with Broader Public Sector procurement guidelines and contract management considered an asset
