About Our Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Residential Tenancy Officer 2 who will work with a team of professionals to deliver Residential Tenancy services and Condominium Dispute services on behalf of Service Nova Scotia.

Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this position you hold a bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience in adjudication mediation or decision making within administrative law. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
In addition you have:
  • Extensive knowledge of procedural fairness rules of natural justice and legal terminology.
  • Research techniques financial analysis and decision/report writing as it relates to any one of mediation adjudication or dispute resolution services.
  • The ability to distill complex and sometimes ambiguous information into concise findings of fact.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to share information concisely and to listen effectively.
  • Well-developed interviewing skills to deal effectively with clients on sensitive matters.
  • The ability to create store and manage electronic files on local and network drives using software and scanning hardware.
  • Proficiency in various computer applications such as Word Excel Outlook Teams and Adobe.

The following are considered assets:Working knowledge of assessing evidence and applying proper weight to evidence presented general knowledge of the policies processes and the governing Acts and Regulations for the Residential Tenancies and Condominium Dispute programs and proficiency in case management software.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination standardized tests oral presentations interview(s) and reference checks.

Salary Range: $2912.93- $3547.06Bi-Weekly
