Operating Room Radiological Technologist (232932)
Job Summary
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reports to Trauma Supervisor conducts radiographic procedures in the Operating Room operates the portable radiology service equipment to conduct radiographic/fluorographic procedures in other areas of the hospital and performs a variety of related duties such as sensitometry testing updating procedure manuals maintaining related supplies and cleaning equipment.
Successful graduation from a recognized accredited school of radiology technology. Registered in good standing with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) BC Division. One year of recent general radiology experience including experience with Operating Room Procedures.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position including the ability to lift and position patients for examinations.
- Ability to work independently and organize work.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively deal with others including patients and staff.
- Demonstrated proficiency in all portable routines and Operating Room radiology procedures.
