Job Summary

Job Summary

The Officer Accounts Payable is responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable processing and recording of university expenses. The Officer completes payments by receiving processing verifying and reconciling invoices. The incumbent prepares and monitors Accounts Payable documentation and performs various reconciliations.

The Officer analyzes expense reports and invoices to ensure payments are assigned to the proper cost accounts and works with vendors to resolve past due invoices and monthly statements.

Qualifications
  • Completion of one (1) year of a recognized accounting course (i.e. CPA) or 10 months completed in a Business Management program or related certificate.

  • Minimum three (3) years of related accounts payable or procure-to-pay experience. Strong numeracy skills attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines determine priorities and organize work to meet objectives in a high volume transactions environment with strict deadlines.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products with strong technical skills with Excel.

  • Experience with Centresuite preferred (online expense management system).

  • Experience with training users on policies and systems.

  • Experience with Banner preferred (post-secondary ERP System).

  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
