About the Role

This is a highly visible role where your work directly supports the planning operation and maintenance of Oakville Hydros electrical distribution system. As the GIS and CAD Technician you willbe responsible formaintainingGIS datadistributionsystem recordsand electronic drawings while supporting construction projects infrastructure improvements and utility modernization initiatives.

What Youll Be Doing

• Create andmaintainelectronic drawings for electrical distribution construction projects including overhead and underground systems subdivisions pad plans and standard drawings
• Maintain update and import distribution network information within the ESRIArcFMGIS environment
• Prepare andmaintainconstruction drawings permanent records and associated documentation
• Issue drawings and records to internal departments asrequired
• Maintain equipment records drawing indexes and document management systems
• Support GIS data quality initiatives and system improvements
• Assist with Oakville Hydros digital transformation and modernization projects
• Provide technical support related to GIS and CAD information
• Collaborate with Engineering Operations and other internal stakeholders
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring

• Diploma or Degree in GIS Geomatics Geographic Information Systems Engineering Technology or a related discipline
• Minimum 23 years of GIS and AutoCAD experience preferably within an electrical utility engineering consulting municipal or infrastructure environment
• Strongproficiencywith AutoCAD and GIS applications
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS/ArcFMand AutoCAD Map 3D
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and utility mapping is considered a strong asset
• Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
