Job Summary

Job Summary

Install assemble and maintain piping systems steam lines and fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial settings. Perform layout fabrication pressure testing and system commissioning while following safety and code requirements.

Main Duties
  • Read and interpret blueprints isometric drawings and specifications to determine required materials and layout
  • Measure cut thread bend and join pipes using hand and power tools and pipefitting equipment
  • Fabricate and install pipe supports hangers and prefabricated assemblies to ensure proper alignment
  • Install test and commission steam process and sprinkler systems including pressure and leak testing
  • Troubleshoot repair and replace faulty components such as valves fittings and control devices
  • Coordinate with contractors electricians and site personnel to ensure safe timely and code-compliant installations
Requirements
  • Completion of a steamfitter/pipefitter apprenticeship program or equivalent trade training and experience
  • Previous experience working on commercial or industrial piping steam or sprinkler systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints piping schematics and isometric drawings
  • Proficiency with pipefitting tools and common welding brazing or joining techniques
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials work in confined spaces and at heights and perform manual tasks
  • Knowledge of pressure testing procedures safety practices and applicable plumbing and fire protection codes
