The Opportunity
The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) provides medical office assistant support for the Centre as well as general administrative assistance and reception duties for Foundry Langley.

HOURS OF WORK: 22.5 hrs per week
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday Tuesday Wednesday: 11:30AM-7:30PM
SALARY RANGE: CSSEA Wage Grid 10: $26.83 - $29.76 hourly (depending on experience and qualification)
VACATION: As per ESSS policy

Some Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Welcomes youth and family members to Foundry Langley and contributes to a safe welcoming and supportive culture for youth young adults caregivers and family members receiving services at the Foundry Centre;
Collaborates with other staff and practitioners working at the centre to optimize the youth young adult and family experience as it relates to the delivery of services;
Participates as a team member attending team meetings case conferences conference calls and other organizational activities;
Provides day-to-day assistance to service delivery staff in the use of computer software in areas such as document formatting printing saving and retrieving as required;
Prepares updates and prints program materials and brochures using a software package. Ensures supplies of up-to-date handouts and resource materials are available.
Registers and triages patients including setting up new patients with the Foundry Toolbox system;
Answers calls and emails promptly and directs to the appropriate staff member or practitioner as needed;
Notifies patients about specialist appointments or imaging appointments notifies patients who need to return to clinic;
Helps out with runner duties including pregnancy tests urine dips when needed;
Checks on all MOA tasks daily;
Ensures patient flow during clinics;
Keeps referrals and their status up to date;
Support staff and clients through booking meetings spaces for participant and staff meetings;
Performs other duties as required/assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Education and Knowledge
MOA certificate and experience working in a medical practice;
Experience working with youth; and
2. Training and Experience
Knowledge of MSP billing processes and medical office software;
3. Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality;
Strong relationship- and rapport-building skills;
Empathic caring approach with strong active listening skills;
Broad knowledge of community resources and supports;
Knowledge of systemic issues and risk factors facing minority groups including 2SLGBTQIA and Indigenous youth and young adults;

Demonstrated time management skills accountability reliability and punctuality;
Excellent planning organizational and coordination skills with ability to multi-task;
Well-developed communication skills ability to speak listen and write clearly thoroughly and professionally;

Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software;
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Acts pertinent regulations policy procedures and other statutory and certification requirements (such as the Mental Health Act; Adult Guardianship Act; Child Family and Community Service Act; and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act);
Knowledge of systemic issues and risk factors facing underrepresented groups including 2SLGBTQIA and Indigenous youth and young adults.
