Job Description and Responsibilities

Were seeking a full-time Millwright/Mechanic who thrives on problem-solving can interpret blueprints and schematics with precision and takes pride in maintaining and repairing essential equipment. If youre detail-oriented experienced in maintenance management systems and ready to contribute to a supportive safety-first workplace wed love to hear from you!

• Receive instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair installation and inspection work to be done
• Inspects mill equipment for defects such as misalignment wear insufficient lubrication
• Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production
• Advises when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect
• Dismantles cleans repairs replaces installs maintains assembles and lubricates mechanical equipment
• Adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics
• Makes either temporary or permanent repairs
• Assembles and aligns gears bearings and shafts involving the application of press sliding and running fits
• Works with repair crew as directed on emergency breakdowns

Requirements

• Must possess a Millwright/Mechanic Red Seal Journeyman Certificate or Alberta Journeyman Certificate
• Previous work experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is an asset
• Must be able to workrotating shifts (days & nights)
• Must successfully pass the pre-employment screening process
