Were looking for a motivated hands-on Materials and Geotechnical Technician/Technologist to help make sure the ground concrete and asphalt behind our regions infrastructure are built to last. We currently have openings for Materials and Geotechnical Technician(s)/Technologist(s) in our Saint John office.

The ideal candidate has some experience in general construction is comfortable moving between outdoor fieldwork and lab settings and brings curiosity and attention to detail to everything they do.

What Youll Bring:

• College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or a related field).
• Two years experience in civil construction.
• Experience with materials testing and inspection.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Strong multi-tasking organization and planning skills.
• Comfortable lifting 3050 lbs on a regular basis.
• Valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle required for work-related travel.

What Youll Do:

• Laboratory testing of aggregates soils concrete and asphalt.
• Field testing and sampling of aggregates soils concrete and asphalt.
• A mix of office laboratory and field work across materials testing and geotechnical engineering projects.
• Conduct construction surveys to support engineering projects.
• Work alongside engineers technologists and project teams to keep projects moving.
• Communicate project updates milestones and potential issues to clients in a clear and professional manner.
• Other duties as required; no two days look quite the same.
