In this position...


The successful candidate will lead a team of embedded developers and drive overall Telematics Control Unit (TCU) organizational engineering excellence enabling the delivery of high-quality TCU software releases as part of the Connectivity Platform organization. This role combines technical leadership strategic direction and people development to ensure scalable reliable and customer-focused solutions.



Responsibilities

What youll do...


The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical leadership strategic direction and operational guidance to the development team.
  • Help define and drive the technical roadmap for TCU software feature and platform development.
  • Oversee implementation of key TCU features including software updates stolen vehicle recovery and diagnostics.
  • Drive process improvements engineering best practices and operational excellence.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for code quality debugging capabilities and code coverage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product systems hardware security) to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Communicate technical decisions risks and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Recruit hire onboard and mentor team members; foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Identify manage and mitigate risks; proactively resolve bottlenecks to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Own end-to-end TCU feature delivery and ensure features meet customer expectations for reliability performance and security.


Qualifications

Youll have...

Education-Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field of study.

Experience-

  • 10 years hands-on embedded software development experience in C/C and object-oriented design.
  • 7 years experience leading embedded software development teams.
  • Proven track record of designing software architecture managing system integration and debugging complex distributed systems through at least 2 complete product lifecycles.

Education-Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field of study.

Experience-

  • Experience with modern development CI/CD and collaboration tools including SonarQube (static analysis) gcov (code coverage) Jenkins (CI/CD and job scheduling) JIRA (work tracking) and GitHub (version control).
  • Experience with automotive embedded systems and software validation/testing
  • Experience with embedded Linux operating systems
  • Experience applying AI/ML techniques to software development and engineering
  • Experience with cloud platforms and data analytics/visualization tools
