Job Summary:
This position is accountable for the packaging of pharmaceuticals to meet quality standards (e.g. full cGMP health safetyand environmental compliance) cost targets delivery dates while ensuring proper staffing levels includinghiring and training of staff and the continuous development of existing associates. Work with internal andexternal auditors clients equipment vendors component suppliers and other internal and externalcontracts as needed. Reviews / approves master production documents validation reports and SOPs.
Essential Functions:
- Work with leadership to determine resources required to meet the production schedule (e.g. hiring ofstaff shift structure etc.).
- Monitor daily production outputs (e.g. output quantity etc.) and efficiencies.
- Identify lead and complete all projects (PPI Quality CAS Morale) within established timelines andbudget.
- Prepare quotations for existing products and future prospective clients maintain product routings andannual costing.
- Develop and implement a succession plan and career path for all key individuals.
- Outline clearly key staff roles and expectations as required.
- Ensure the necessary training is provided to individuals such that they are able to excel in their positionand monitor the performance of those who require assistance or direction.
- Support cross training of individuals thus achieving a flexible work force as required.
- Hire staff and administer performance improvement plans up to and including termination whenappropriate.
- Ensure responses to client Good Manufacturing Practices safety and CAPA follow-up actions arecompleted in a timely manner as required.
- Support CEM program. Develop culture of customer service and centricity.
- Instill a culture of professionalism and respect for co-workers clients and the products.
- Participate in annual budget creation and monthly tracking of spend.
- Promote a safe working environment report potential hazards and ensure all direct reports follow
- Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
- Select develop and evaluate staff to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Works with andadvises staff on administrative policies and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Diploma in related field.
Bachelors degree in industrial engineering industrial technology science or a related field is preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or similar operations role quality supply chain or
technical operations preferably in pharmaceutical or consumer product packaging environment.
Minimum 3 years previous supervisory experience.
Equivalency:
Equivalent combinations of education training and relevant work experience may be considered.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Understanding of Manufacturing Operations and Plant operations is required. Proven ability to coach and
develop staff as well as the technical ability to coordinate departmental business activities. Full knowledgeof
Manager Packaging Good Manufacturing Practices requirements and pharmaceutical processing regulations. Strong
leadership team building and organizational skills. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft
Office programs including the ability to develop spreadsheets presentations and reports. Proficiency with
the English language.

members modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives.
Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems SOPs and Good Manufacturing
Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly engage in and adhere to
departmental systems in order to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management scheduling
systems etc.). Be client and patient centric at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive
to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in
problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change motivating the team to adapt to shifts in
priorities and new ways of working. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of
procedures. Communicate risks to timelines of deliverables in a proactive strives to
improve skills and knowledge in related field.
Physical Requirements:
Light physical effort and fatigue. Walks sits or stands for limited periods. May require occasional equipment
operation including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for limited duration. Typically located in a
comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as
dust fumes or odours temperature extremes loud noise strong drafts or bright lights. Use of Personal
Protective equipment may be required and may include any of the following: safety glasses safety shoes
lab coat gloves hair net beard cover safety apron respirator on occasionally.
Compensation
The estimated annualized pay range for this position in Ontario is $77000.00$115475.00.Required Experience:
