The First Nation School Board (FNSB) was established in February 2022. Our main office is located in Whitehorse Yukon on the territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Taan Kwächän Council. FNSB serves and works in partnership withVuntut Gwitchin First Nation Liard First Nation Ross River Dena Council Champagne and Aishihik First Nation White River First Nation Taan Kwächän Council Kwanlin Dün First Nation Selkirk First Nation Carcross/Tagish First Nation and Kluane First Nationfor the schools and Learners on their territories.
Our approach to instruction programming and operations promotes reconciliation by being grounding in Yukon First Nations values of student-centered strengths-based and community-led. Board-run schools are forallYukon students.
Through respectful partnership with schools Yukon First Nations and community the Manager of Instructional Leadership helps ensure educational initiatives are responsive to local context values and priorities. The role leads the implementation of evidence-informed strategies supports professional learning and continuous improvement and fosters a collaborative environment focused on accountability innovation and student success. By monitoring progress strengthening systems of support and ensuring alignment with organizational goals policy and governance this position contributes to building an inclusive and high-quality education system grounded in reconciliation and student achievement.

Are you motivated to work on a team developing a public school system grounded in reconciliation
We seek applicants with considerable experience buildingstrong and trusting relationships with partners while providing strategic advice and guidance. Comfort in the unknown and a desire to create new processes paired with expertise in interpreting and applying legislation regulations and policy will support the you to be successful in this role. A teaching certificate and regular travel throughout the Yukon is a requirement of the position.
