Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician Hatchery Wynyard SaskatchewanJob purposeThe Hatchery Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting repairing and optimizing hatchery equipment building systems and facility infrastructure to ensure safe efficient and uninterrupted hatchery operations. This role performs preventive maintenance responds to equipment breakdowns and supports continuous improvement initiatives to maximize hatchability biosecurity safety and operational role works closely with all other hatchery functions and external contractors to maintain critical systems including incubation equipment HVAC systems water treatment equipment electrical systems conveyors generators and mechanical and ResponsibilitiesExecute scheduled preventive maintenance activities according to established maintenance programs including maintaining records and work equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintain and repair incubators hatchers egg handling systems and other related maintain and repair mechanical systems including pumps motors gearboxes compressors and pneumatic systems. Assist with boiler loading bay equipment dock systems and facility handling electrical and control systems replace defective components and light fixtures. Collaborate with licensed electricians to address routine inspections of utilities and facility infrastructure including inspections of generators emergency lighting fire extinguishers RO stems and chemical storage to equipment breakdowns and operational disruptions by diagnosing maintenance failures and performing repairs to minimize in hatchery rotation duties as diploma or certificate in Industrial Maintenance Mechanical Technology Electrical Technology or related field considered an asset.2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in poultry food processing agriculture hatchery manufacturing or other production environments considered an to communicate in English both verbally and in attendance and reliability are thinker with the ability to develop and initiate action plans to meet deadlines and achieve results while respecting core values. Problem solving ability to identify the elements of a problem situation and understand which components are critical. Must be motivated and require minimum supervision in performing job conditionsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. (23 kg) to stand walk bend kneel climb ladders and work in confined to work in varying temperature and humidity conditions common in hatchery to perform emergency repairs outside of normal business hours when required.
