Lubricant Blending Technician

The Lubricant Blending Technician is responsible for executing customer orders in accordance with production schedules and blending plans established by management ensuring complete and on-time deliveries while maintaining product quality standards.
We are currently filling two openings: one for the evening shift and one for the night shift.
Key Responsibilities
Production
Operate blending equipment including pumps scales and automated systems.
Prepare blends according to established formulations including raw materials quantities and mixing sequences.
Supply production lines with raw materials.
Monitor production processes and make adjustments as required.
Fill package and label containers (drums pails totes and bulk shipments).
Maintain batch numbers and ensure full product traceability.
Receive raw materials from tank trucks and railcars.
Perform visual inspections and basic quality checks throughout production.
Report any non-conformities and work closely with the Quality team to resolve issues.
Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to ensure efficient operations.
Laboratory / Quality Assurance
Monitor raw materials production batches retained samples and external laboratory testing.
Collect product samples and perform laboratory tests (ASTM or internal procedures) including:
o Kinematic viscosity
o Density
o Specific gravity
o Glycol concentration
o Freeze point
Maintain accurate testing records and documentation for raw materials blends and finished products.
Ensure laboratory equipment is properly calibrated.
Collect in-process production samples.
Perform routine quality control tests in accordance with internal procedures to verify product conformity.
Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing blending or a production environment.
Good physical condition and ability to work in an industrial setting.
Ability to accurately follow formulas and production procedures.
Comfortable performing basic mathematical calculations (ratios measurements quantities).
Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility.
Team-oriented with effective communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with chemicals or industrial liquid products.
Basic knowledge of automated production equipment is considered an asset.
Experience in quality control or quality assurance is considered an asset.
Requirements
Education
Technical diploma (DEC) in Chemistry Petroleum Technology or a related field is considered an asset.
Experience
Minimum of 6 months of experience in blending and laboratory work within the chemical or petroleum industry.
