Location: Abbotsford Chilliwack or Victoria
Salary: $60000 $75000
Schedule: Full-Time In-office preferred but possibility for occasional hybrid after probation
Term: 12-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
Our client a respected Victoria-based law firm with offices in the lower mainland is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join its Labour & Employment group on a full-time one-year contract in their Abbotsford Chilliwack or Victoria office. This opportunity is ideal for a highly organized legal professional who enjoys supporting a busy practice and working closely with lawyers in a collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will have previous law firm experience and ideally bring exposure to Labour & Employment law. The contract is anticipated to begin in September with the possibility of extension for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare format proofread and manage a variety of legal documents correspondence agreements and employment-related materials.
- Coordinate lawyer calendars meetings hearings mediations and other appointments.
- Open organize maintain and close client files in accordance with firm procedures.
- Track deadlines limitation dates and critical file milestones.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and communications.
- Liaise professionally with clients opposing counsel tribunals and external stakeholders.
- Assist with billing time entry expense submissions and administrative reporting.
- Maintain electronic and physical file systems.
- Provide general administrative and practice support to members of the Labour & Employment team.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant within a law firm environment.
- Previous Labour & Employment experience is strongly preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced practice.
- Professional team-oriented and client-service focused approach.
