Job Summary
Matrix HR is seeking a motivated Lead Hand Operator for major open-pit gold mine projects in Northern Manitoba and Ontario. What We Offer
- Competitive pay rate of $38.00 to $40.00 per hour based on your experience
- Full camp accommodation provided for the duration of the project
- Consistent 20 & 10 rotation with both day and night shifts available
- Opportunity to work on a significant mining infrastructure project

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and guidance to a small crew of operators and support staff
- Coordinate daily equipment movements and Client to optimize site productivity
- Operate large-scale excavators or dozers in a high-production mining environment
- Monitor site safety and ensure all team members comply with project-specific regulations
- Communicate progress updates and operational challenges to the Foreman and site management
- Mentor junior staff on equipment operation and site-specific best practices
- Ensure all work meets project quality standards and technical specifications
- Follow all site safety procedures and maintain a clean organized work area
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and crew members to ensure efficient project execution
Qualifications
- Extensive background in heavy civil construction or mining operations
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment
- Technical proficiency in operating a wide range of heavy equipment in challenging terrain
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team
- Experience in mining heavy civil or remote energy environments is a strong asset
- Possession of a valid drivers license and a clean driving record
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Must be located within Canada. We do not provide LMIA support or work permit sponsorships.
