Be our next Land Development Project Engineer/Designer!
The Land Development Team in EXPs Calgary office is currently looking for a Land Development Project Engineer/Designerto join their team. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Western Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future. This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager Land Development Operations.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Provide road and utility design solutions and input on the design process for key complex projects including providing support to Project Managers and other design team members
- Write sign and possibly seal reports/drawings as required
- Supervise/mentor and provide Quality Control for designs specifications and contract documents
- Monitor project schedule and budgets and report status to the project manager on a regular basis
- Liaise with clients municipal approving authorities and contractors as needed
- Pursue obtaining all necessary approvals and permits for projects including those from municipalities and provincial (Alberta) agencies
- Participate in business development efforts including writing and pricing proposal efforts securing new projects/clients as needed
- Coordinate design and field staff required for internal project teams including directing coordinating and reviewing work done by staff
- Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all sites and report to Manager and Joint Health and Safety Committee Members
What your experience looks like
- 5 to 8 years of experience in the Land Development industry with a focus on land development projects
- Have a strong working knowledge using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Registered as a Professional Engineer () or Technologist or eligible for registration
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
- Fully conversant with Microsoft software applications
- Strong detail orientation
- Organized works well under pressure and able to deal with situations with tact
- A valid drivers license and vehicle is required
- Demonstrated ability to perform individually or as a member of project teams
- Ability to multi-task is critical must enjoy meeting deadlines
- Customer service orientation is critical
