Job Summary

The Oakridge Kids Coordinator joins the Oakridge pastoral team and the Tenth Kids team in creating a joyful worshipful and engaging environment where children can learn grow and thrive in faith. At Oakridge the role primarily supports children ages 2.5 to Grade 5. This role partners with parents and caregivers in raising lifelong followers of Christ and equips leaders and teachers to help shape meaningful Christ-centered experiences for every child.
Ways You Will Contribute:
Oakridge Kids Ministry:
- Support integration of curriculum for Kids Services
- Prepare and support weekly Kids services (setup execution and leadership as required)
- Communicate weekly curriculum and ensure leaders are prepared to teach
- Onboard train and equip leaders and helpers for Kids Ministry
- Provide ongoing check-ins encouragement and support for volunteers and identify opportunities for growth on Sundays in-person or online
- Connect with parents on Sundays and throughout the week
- Coordinate weekly service roles schedules and lesson delivery
- Lead weekly services for toddler preschool or older kids as required
- Identify and invite potential leaders from the site to serve in Kids Ministry
- Ensure health safety and risk management standards are implemented and maintained
- Participate in Tenth Oakridge events to connect with children families and caregivers
Other:
- Participate in Oakridge team meetings TK team meetings staff meetings (minimum monthly) training and retreats as required
What You Bring:
- Relevant Bachelors degree (i.e. Family Ministries Education Theology) or significant experience working with children
- Diploma of Christian Studies or theological education an asset
- Early Childhood Education an asset
- Strong computer skills (MS 365); Planning Centre Online an asset
- Possess an authentic growing faith in Christ
- Spiritual maturity and evidence of ongoing personal spiritual formation
- Heart for working with children families and leaders from varied social economic ethnic and spiritual backgrounds
- Ability to work responsibly and carry out duties with minimum supervision
- Ability to articulate sound theology and philosophy of ministry
- Relational and outgoing with a passion for connecting with people
- Ability to translate vision and strategy into action
- Committed to attending Tenth Church if hired
This is a part-time position where you will work 12 hours per week.
The salary for this position is $14976 per annum.
