Job Description:

POsition Purpose summary:

The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other. Kettle Scheduler position is a short-term contract position. The successful candidate is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Zone locations include shopping malls grocery stores and retail outlets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Incumbent may perform all some or similar range of duties as below.

• Must have a solid understanding of basic to intermediate computer operation including Microsoft 365 programs data entry internet browsers and some file management and ability to create reports.
• Be a positive and outgoing representative of The Salvation Army Okanagan Central.
  • Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign
  • Provide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to volunteer arrival at Campaign onset
  • Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion.
  • Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to Administrative and Internal Communications Manager
  • Provide training to and the orientation of volunteers assuring proper Kettle handling and duties as required
  • Schedule supervise support and assign Kettle Volunteers throughout the Campaign
  • Participate in the recruitment of new volunteers
  • Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (bi-weekly basis)
  • Respond to questions/queries from volunteers and site hosts.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of related experience or working in customer service

Money handling experience is an asset

Related experience is an asset

Skills/capabilities

• Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
• Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Armys health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion is required including Child Check (if appropriate).
• A Drivers Abstract that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion is required
• Valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Enthusiastic Team Player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 25 lbs)
• Strong customer service skills; enjoy liaising and working with people of all ages and abilities
• Willingness to be flexible and work well under pressure with daily timelines and changing priorities
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor volunteer and organizational information

Compensation:

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
