About the Role
Firma Concrete is looking for a motivatedJunior Estimatorto join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction estimating and project management. You will work alongside experienced estimators and project managers learning every aspect of the estimating process while contributing to a wide variety of commercial civil and concrete construction projects.
No estimating experience is required. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs.
- Request and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Assist in preparing estimates and project bids.
- Maintain estimating databases and project documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers field supervisors and suppliers.
- Help prepare budgets cost reports and bid packages.
- Attend site visits as required.
- Support the estimating and operations teams with administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read construction drawings is an asset.
- Construction experience is an asset but not required.
- Civil concrete or commercial construction knowledge is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering Technology Civil Engineering Technology Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Valid Class 5 drivers licence.
