Job Summary
The University of Saskatchewan is one of the top research-intensive universities in Canada. The Facilities team is comprised of over 300 trades personnel and service workers that provide trusted services and stewardship in support of teaching learning and discovery. This team is responsible for operations maintenance service utilities distribution and customer support. The Facilities Team Charter describes the purpose vision and values that in turn support the campus community. Primary Purpose: To maintain troubleshoot repair and install steam condensate chilled water heating and related distribution systems in support of safe and reliable campus operations. Nature of Work: Reporting to an Assistant Manager Facilities this role works in a multi-trade environment indoors and outdoors under varied conditions. The work involves moderate to heavy physical labour use of ladders and lifts and tasks in confined spaces crawlspaces and construction zones. Temperatures noise levels and lighting can vary significantly. Hazards may include asbestos lead silica volatile organic compounds and other regulated materials; full compliance with safety procedures and personal protective equipment (including respiratory protection requiring a clean-shaven face) is mandatory.
