Java Backend Engineer AI Fintech & Blockchain

We are building an innovative product at the intersection of AI fintech and blockchain. We currently have a working MVP and are looking for a Java Backend Engineer to help migrate the existing backend to Java and build a scalable secure and maintainable architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze the existing MVP backend and understand its business logic and architecture.
  

• Plan and execute the migration of existing backend services to Java.
  

• Develop backend APIs and services using Java and Spring Boot.
  

• Integrate and optimize databases APIs and external services.
  

• Maintain existing functionality throughout the migration process.
  

• Improve backend performance security reliability and scalability.
  

• Implement automated tests and maintain high code quality.
  

• Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to deliver new features.
  

• Support deployment monitoring and ongoing backend improvements.
  

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with an existing codebase making practical architectural decisions and taking ownership of backend development from migration through production deployment.

• Strong experience in Java backend development.
  

• Hands-on experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot.
  

• Solid understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture.
  

• Experience with PostgreSQL MySQL or other relational databases.
  

• Familiarity with Hibernate Spring Data JPA and database migrations.
  

• Experience with authentication authorization and API security.
  

• Knowledge of unit testing and integration testing.
  

• Experience using Git Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
  

• Ability to understand refactor and migrate an existing backend codebase.
  

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  

• Good communication and collaboration skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience migrating an existing MVP or backend system to Java.
  

• Background in fintech payment systems blockchain or Web3.
  

• Experience integrating AI services or LLM APIs.
  

• Familiarity with AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
  

• Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
