Job Description: Role: Java Developer - AI (GitHub Copilot Claude Code)

Location: Montreal- Hybrid in office 3 days a week

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with 7-10 years of experience in designing and building enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Core Java Data Structures & Algorithms Distributed Systems Multi-threaded Architecture and Linux environments. Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code is highly desirable to accelerate software development and improve engineering productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Design develop and maintain scalable high-performance Java-based applications.

Build and optimize distributed and microservices-based systems.

Develop robust multi-threaded and concurrent applications with a focus on performance and reliability.

Participate in solution design architecture discussions and technical decision-making.

Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Work in Linux/Unix environments for development deployment and troubleshooting.

Utilize AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot Claude Code or similar platforms throughout the Software

Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Write clean maintainable and well-documented code following best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Participate in code reviews testing debugging and production support activities.

Required Skills

7-10 years of strong hands-on experience in Java development.

Excellent knowledge of Data Structures Algorithms and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.

Strong experience in designing and developing distributed systems.

Deep understanding of multi-threading concurrency and performance tuning.

Solid experience working in Linux/Unix environments.

Basic understanding of Python for scripting and automation.

Experience with REST APIs Microservices Architecture and modern software design patterns.

Familiarity with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot Claude Code or equivalent.

Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP.

Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Understanding of software security and performance optimization.

Agile & Collaboration

Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative software development practices.

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning daily stand-ups retrospectives and backlog grooming.
