Job Overview:

The Resident Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of janitorial services at the designated site ensuring compliance with contract obligations and delivering high-quality services to meet client expectations. The role involves managing communication between the company and the client leading the cleaning staff maintaining health and safety standards and managing resources to ensure smooth operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee daily weekly and monthly cleaning services according to the janitorial service agreement. Respond to additional service requests or building inspections in a timely manner.

Complete weekly schedule for each LD HD Porter and/or any other front-line position. Submit these to Manager for review and approval.

Conduct regular schedule and impromptu inspections and audits to ensure quality control

Manage all client communication (both verbal and electronic) related to the delivery of services as outlined in the contract MSA. Address any concerns or special requests promptly.

Work closely with Regional VP to ensure customer satisfaction and contractual obligations are met. Participate in periodic (biweekly) management meetings at the company head office to report on service delivery and performance.

Lead and manage cleaning supervisors and staff fostering a cohesive and productive work environment. Ensure the team adheres to established procedures and schedules.

Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained. Coordinate job openings and hiring processes with HRBP to fill any gaps in the team.

Manage equipment and vehicle maintenance ensuring preventive and ongoing upkeep to avoid disruptions in service.

Implement and manage the companys Health and Safety (H&S) program at the site and update the H&S board with any new company policies or content.

Establish and deliver required training to meet both legislative and contractual requirements including cleanroom requirements. Provide regular refresher training as needed and ensure staff understand their duties by obtaining sign-off on required documentation.

Conduct daily and weekly building inspections to ensure that all work meets contract specifications. Collect measurable data to track service quality and staff performance via Coach and Counsel Forms.

Manage site materials and product inventory. Ensure monthly order processing is completed and that product usage stays within budget assigned to the building.

Submit detailed Service Requests to the client for any identified facility deficiencies specifying the location and nature of the problem.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience in managing cleaning services in a commercial or institutional setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to conduct thorough inspections and report on performance.
  • Experience in inventory and budget management.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software for tracking and managing services.
  • Experience in budgeting work loading and cost controls.
  • Commitment to maintaining best in class service.
