Job Summary

The IT Inventory Audit Assistant focuses on improving the accuracy and completeness of IT asset records through hands-on reconciliation activities. The position involves physically validating a broad range of equipmentincluding servers network switches telephones monitors desktops and laptopsconfirming their locations and capturing key details to align actual inventory with documented records. By identifying discrepancies and organizing accurate data the role enhances asset visibility and supports audit and operational readiness.

What youll be doing:

  • Physical verification of IT assets (on-site validation locating equipment).
  • Reconciliation against inventory records (cross-checking identifying gaps).
  • Data entry and record updates (asset details location status).
  • Documenting discrepancies and reporting findings.
  • Collaboration with IT teams / clarification of asset ownership.

Other duties as assigned.

What youll bring to the role:

  • A minimum of a 2-year diploma in Computer Studies Information Technology.
  • 18 months of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with IT hardware inventories or asset management processes is required including familiarity with a range of equipment such as servers network switches desktops laptops monitors and telephones. The role benefits from hands-on experience in physically identifying and handling IT equipment along with the ability to interpret asset tags serial numbers and basic configuration details.
  • Experience using asset tracking tools spreadsheets or inventory systems is important to accurately record and reconcile data. The incumbent should also have experience working in structured environments (e.g. data centres IT storage rooms offices or labs) where attention to detail and accuracy is critical. Prior exposure to audit support inventory clean-up initiatives or data validation activities is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights equity diversity inclusion and accessibility.
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students employees and communities.
