About the Opportunity
A national IP practice is looking for an associate with copyright and trademark litigation experience to join its team with flexibility to be based in Toronto or Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of copyright and trademark litigation from pleadings through trial

• Draft pleadings motions and legal opinions

• Conduct legal research on IP infringement validity and enforcement issues

• Attend examinations mediations and court appearances

• Collaborate with the broader IP group on contentious and non-contentious matters

Qualifications

• Called to the Bar in Ontario or British Columbia in good standing

• 4-5 years of IP litigation experience with a focus on copyright and/or trademarks

• Strong litigation drafting and advocacy skills

• Federal Court experience is an asset

• Ability to manage files independently while collaborating with senior counsel
