Position Summary
As an Inventory Accountant youll safeguard the accuracy and financial integrity of inventory across Canadian Bank Note Companys secure manufacturing environments. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory transactions reconciling balances analyzing variances supporting month-end and year-end reporting and maintaining compliance with internal controls.
Partnering with Production Supply Chain Operations and Finance youll provide financial insight into inventory performance drive process improvements and help protect high-value materials throughout their lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Operational & Business Understanding
- Develop a strong understanding of CBNs products manufacturing processes and inventory flows.
- Build detailed knowledge of inventory components and how they support the production of secure document solutions.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Lead all month-end inventory close activities ensuring accuracy completeness and adherence to timelines.
- Partner with operations supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate recording of inventory movements and consumption.
- Perform ongoing inventory analysis including aging turnover and reserve assessments to identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
- Investigate variances trends and anomalies; collaborate with the business to implement corrective actions.
- Oversee and coordinate annual physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts including audit support and documentation.
- Strengthen and maintain internal controls over inventory processes and reporting.
Qualifications :
Mandatory Requirements
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Fluent in English
- Able to obtain (in a timely manner) and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) Security Clearance
Minimum Qualifications
- College diploma in Accounting Finance Economics Business Adminstration or equivalent relevant work experience
- Proficiency in O365 (Excel Word Outlook Teams SharePoint)
- Intermediate Excel skills (formulas vlookup sumif etc.)
- 2 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting positions
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors in Accounting Finance Economics Business Administration
- Knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Cost and management accounting
- Financial reporting and reconciliations
- ERP Experience (D365 F&O)
